Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough today in the House of Commons asked Patrick McLoughlin, the Secretary of State for transport to speed up delivery of the Western Rail link to Heathrow. He agreed to look into her request.
“This rail link will deliver cleaner air for Slough and will help to keep business in our town by improving this connection to the airport” she said, “But waiting till 2021 to deliver is too long and puts our health and prosperity at risk. I am glad that the Transport Secretary agreed to consider my request. I hope to meet him with local residents and businesses as soon as possible to plan how and why we need this to happen soon.”
