Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough met constituent Tony Osborne and donated items for the Foodbank. Tony Osborne is holding a charity concert in memory of his wife, Jo, and people are invited to bring items for the Foodbank.
The concert will take place at St Mary’s, Church St, Slough, on Sunday 23rd March, 3–5 pm.
Fiona said, “The Foodbank is a vital lifeline for a lot of people in Slough and so I’m glad that Tony has decided to commemorate his wife in such a positive way that will help so many people. I know that a concert that was held a few years ago raised £900 and so I hope that even more money can be raised this year.
“I always try to help the Foodbank whenever I can, so I donated toiletries via Tony. Not many people realise that the Foodbank accepts and needs household items too, not only food.”
Tony Osborne said, “Jo ran the Slough and District Religious Studies Centre and served on SACRE, as well as serving the local community in many ways, which earned her much love and respect.”
As well as a composer, Tony was for many years a freelance Double Bass and Bass Guitar player in orchestras, such as BBC Symphony and Royal Ballet, Theatre Royal Windsor, Cabaret with Faith Brown and Frankie Vaughan, and The Ritz.
Tickets can be reserved in advance by calling 01963 370051 or collected at the door on the day.
