Following the speech by the President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Paul Drechsler, Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart said:
“Many successful businesses in Slough tell me that Heathrow expansion is vital for their business, it is because of access through Heathrow that Slough attracts inward investment to the UK and creates jobs for local people. The fact that the CBI, as a voice for businesses and employers of all sizes, has backed extra runway capacity highlights the need for quick action.
“A third runway at Heathrow will bring new jobs and more wealth to our town. It’s now up to the Prime Minister to make a decision and not drag the issue out. I hope the backing of the CBI will push the Prime Minister to announce a decision that’s positive for Slough and Heathrow.”
The President of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) Paul Drechsler made his speech on Monday at the Aviation Conference, backing airport expansion. The CBI is a group that campaigns, lobbies and acts on behalf of 190,000 businesses that employ nearly 7million people.
