Commenting on the decision by the Government to push back the decision on airport expansion, Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart said, “The Government has again pushed the issue into the long grass, not making a decision. It’s clear that the Prime Minister is more concerned about supporting the conservative candidate for London Mayor than the national economy. The lack of a decision is already causing uncertainty for businesses and jobs and this won’t help.
“I hope that the government uses this time to get some real, substantial action on air quality and noise which I’ve pushed for. But I fear they will just sit on the report and do nothing. I will do all I can in Parliament for a decision that is good for Britain and for Slough.”
