Fiona Mactaggart MP for Slough today met the Chairman of Crossrail, Terry Morgan, to discuss progress on the project and press for better services for Slough.
Fiona said, “At the moment, the plans for Crossrail disadvantage people who need a fast service from Slough to Paddington. While trains will be more frequent and Crossrail will reduce journey times to central and east London, it will take longer to go to Paddington than our present fast services. I pressed for commuter services from Slough to Paddington without stops in between.
“I have long pressed for Slough to be included in the Oyster card scheme, which will make it faster to get on and off the station and simpler to transfer in London and I am glad that Crossrail will bring the Oyster payment system to Slough, I will keep working to get Oyster in place before Crossrail services start.”
