The Workers Educational Association (WEA) and insurance group Scottish Widows held a joint reception in Parliament, sponsored by Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart to celebrate their partnership and highlight the work of the Workers Educational Association.
Fiona said, “The WEA is a fantastic organisation, I regularly welcome students of their courses in Slough to Parliament but this event was a great celebration of all the good work that they do especially in educating women who need a second chance at learning. Scottish Widows have partnered with the WEA to increase the impact they make.
“The WEA plays an important role in lifelong learning. I’ve championed this in Parliament, underlining the importance of people being able to better their lives, especially at a time when the Government is cutting funds for adult learning. I’ll carry on pushing for more opportunities like this.”
The event was held in the Terrace Pavilion, on Tuesday 26th May.
