Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart is urging the people of Slough to remember and think about victims of the Holocaust and genocide as Holocaust Memorial Day 2016 approaches (27th Jan 2016).
Fiona said, “This is an important day to remember the victims of the Holocaust and other genocides since. It is an annual reminder that racial and religious hatred can lead to genocide. It is unacceptable that around the world groups of people are still being killed just because of who they are or what they believe. We should remember those who suffered and never stop challenging dangerous ideologies.”
Last year, Fiona met with Ivor Perl, who at aged only 11 was taken to Auschwitz. Ivor survived with help from his older brother, the only members of their family to survive the Holocaust.
