Commenting on the latest inspection report by the Care Quality Commission into the services at Wexham Park Hospital, Slough MP Fiona Mactaggart commented, “I was pleased to organise a special event a couple of weeks ago to congratulate all the people who work on our local hospital on their efforts. I did this because it was clear that my constituents have had a better experience than previously and I am glad that the Care Quality Commission has recognised their achievements. To go from ‘inadequate’ to ‘good’ is a huge jump that wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of staff.
“The CQC say that it is a ‘remarkable’ and ‘impressive’ difference. The Chief Inspector of Hospitals, Sir Mike Richards told me that this hospital has shown more effort towards improvement than any other he has inspected. It’s important now to build on the momentum of this report to make the further improvements that the CQC recommends and I will continue to work with health professionals to improve the health of people of our town.”
Fiona held a reception in the Palace of Westminster for hospital staff ahead of the results being announced to thank staff for their hard work. The event was on Tuesday 19th.
